On Thursday Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi at Lok Kalyan Marg. The reports claim that the CM Yogi invited the PM Modi for Prayagraj Kumbh Mela which is scheduled to begin from 15th January, 2019.
The Kumb Mela 2019 administration team is headed by CM Yogi Adityanath himself and he has planned to make the event a life time experience for the attending devotees. The Prayagraj Kumbh Mela will be held between 15th January to 4th March 2019. This event, being held in an election year, will have great significance for Prime Minister Modi as Uttar Pradesh has the most number of parliamentary constituencies. While all political parties would like to reach out to 12 crores devotees of Kumbh Mela, it would be advantage BJP being at the helm in UP.
In Prayagraj (formarly known as Allahabad), as the word Kumbh creates the picturesque vision of Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna and the mystical Saraswati flashes in the minds of people. The sacred confluence draws huge number of devotees throughout the year but during Kumbh Mela this number surpass millions as pilgrims from all parts of the country pours in to take a holy dip to earn moksha. ‘Shahi Snan’ of Akharas, chanting of vedic mantras and elucidations of religious hymns in the Saint pandals, proclamations of knowledge, tatvamimansa and truth by rishis, charming music, mesmerising sound of of instruments, holy dip in sangam with utmost devotion fills the heart of devotees with immense joy and offering prayers at many divine temples exhibits the greatness of Prayagraj Kumbh.
Kumbh Mela, in Hinduism, is a religious pilgrimage that is celebrated four times over a course of 12 years. The geographical location of Kumbh Mela spans over four locations in India and the Mela site keeps rotating between one of the four pilgrimage places on four sacred rivers.
